Kirk Hassinger,
Dr. Hassinger completed a three-year surgical residency at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine where he earned the Jacques Jenny Orthopaedic Resident Award.
Jessica R. Kinsey,  DVM, DACVS
After graduation, Dr. Kinsey completed an internship at Carolina Veterinary Specialists, a specialty internship at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, and a surgical residency at Hope Veterinary Specialists.
Dr. Arango
Dr. Arango immigrated from Colombia in August of 2000. As such, he is fluent in English and Spanish. He attended the University of Florida for his undergraduate studies and veterinary school, earning his DVM in 2012.

Internal Medicine

Robert Runde, VMD
Leading our Internal Medicine Department is Dr. Robert Runde. He was born and raised in Africa and then moved to Boston where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Boston University in 1996.


Jonathan Goodwin,
DACVIM - Cardiology
Dr. Jonathan Goodwin was raised in Detroit, Michigan. He received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University and completed his cardiology residency at Purdue University.Dr. Goodwin specializes in congenital cardiac disease (birth defects), pulmonary hypertension, feline myocardial disease, cardiac arrhythmias, and personalized management of congestive heart failure.

Emergency Vets

Christina Phillips,
Dr. Phillips received her bachelors degree in Zoology from The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. She received her veterinary degree from St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. She completed her rotating internship at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in West Lafayette, IN and then completed her surgical internship at VCA Alameda East Veterinary Hospital in Denver, CO.
Susan Leonard,
Dr. Leonard received her veterinary degree from the University of Illinois in 1988. She completed her internship at Michigan State University in 1989 and continued on to complete her residency at the Veterinary Institute of Trauma, Emergency and Critical Care in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Jessica Manning,
Dr. Manning’s special interests include acute trauma, pain assessment and management, internal medicine, and in her spare time, she consults with Manning Farm Dairy on their dairy cattle nutrition formulation program
Darrick Yamaguchi, DVM
Dr.Yamaguchi majored in Animal Science at California Polytechnic State University of San Luis Obispo. Among his accomplishments, Dr. Yamaguchi completed thorough externships at VCA Veterinary Specialty Center in Seattle and Washington and Animal Specialty and Emergency Center in Los Angeles.
Tiffany Clarke,
Dr. Clarke graduated from St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinical training at Cornell Univeristy. Prior to joining the NVRH team, Dr. Clarke completed an emergency and critical care externship at both NVRH as well as at Garden State Veterinary Specials in New Jersey.

Frank Von Esse,
Dr. von Esse came to the United States—from Europe—when he was 3 years of age. He has lived in many places in the US, including New York City, Boston, Colorado, and San Diego. He attended college in Boston, majoring in physics and mathematics, and moved to Pennsylvania to attend the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. He has been a PA resident ever since.

Jessica Nord,
Dr. Nord graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, with a Bachelors Degree in Classics. She then matriculated to the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, performing extensive research on working dogs, including a two-year, Department of Defense-funded study in partnership with U.S. Customs and Border Protection canine handlers at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Physical Rehabilitation

Helen Crabtree, DVM
After graduating from Louisiana State University’s veterinary medicine program, Dr. Helen Crabtree pursued an advanced degree as a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner through the University of Tennessee. She was drawn to veterinary medicine through the challenge of diagnosing patients, and she greatly enjoys the process of restoring mobility in pets that have suffered from injury or illness. Dr. Crabtree lives in the Poconos with her coonhound, Julian, and two tortoises, Frank and Ernest. .
Kristin Edwards, VMD
Dr. Edwards was raised in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Haverford College with a BA in molecular biology in 1986 and received her VMD from the University of Pennsylvania in 1990.
