Growing up in Coral Springs, Florida, Dr. Kelly Scherer began her career working in an animal shelter and later as a technician in a small animal private practice. She earned a B.S. in Psychology from Florida State University in 2002. She worked as a veterinary technician in emergency medicine before attending Ross University for her veterinary degree. Dr. Scherer completed her clinical study at the University of Florida, studying small animal surgery and medicine, and participated in several externships at emergency and specialty referral practices. She joined the staff at NVRH in 2009. Her professional interests are emergency and critical care, dermatology, and endocrine diseases.
Dr. Scherer enjoys cooking, reading, music, photography, and spending time with her island dog and two cats.
