A native of Massachusetts, Dr. Sharon Finster attended North Carolina State University, earning a B.S. in Animal Science. She completed her veterinary degree at the North Carolina College of Veterinary Medicine. She relocated to Saskatchewan, Canada and attended Western College of Veterinary Medicine for an internship in small animal medicine and surgery where she worked on the Canadian Challenge sled dog race. She returned to North Carolina State for a residency in Emergency and Critical Care and recently passed her certifying exam to become board certified in emergency and critical care.
Dr. Finster joined NVRH in 2009. The Medical Director of Emergency Services, her expertise includes sepsis, cardiology and fluid therapy. She lives in the Poconos with her dog and two cats. Her outside interests include hiking, rock climbing, drawing and music.
