Veterinary Soft Tissue Surgery

Soft tissue surgeries cover most surgical procedures that do not fall under the area of Orthopedic Surgery

At Northeast Veterinary Referral Hospital soft tissue surgery is available to pets referred to us by their primary care veterinarian or in emergency cases.

These procedures address conditions involving the ear, nose, and throat, as well as the gastrointestinal, respiratory, and cardio-thoracic systems.

Common Soft Tissue Surgeries

  • Tumor removals
  • Splenectomies
  • Urethral blockages
  • Skin lacerations or abscess
  • Intestinal obstruction
  • Cystotomies
  • Internal bleeding

The Surgical Process

Our veterinary professionals understand that it can be daunting to find out that your pet requires surgery. Please rest assured that when you pet is referred to our team for surgery your animal is in good hands.

All surgical procedures at Northeast Veterinary Referral Hospital are performed using the latest in pain management techniques and the safest anesthetic protocols to keep your pet comfortable throughout the procedure.

What to Expect After Surgery

The veterinary surgeon will contact you once the surgery is complete, to discuss how the procedure went and what to expect in the coming days.

Your pet may be able to return home the next day however, a longer stay may be necessary based upon the complexity of the procedure and your pet’s health status.

When your pet is ready to go home, our team will provide you with discharge instructions for your pet's post-surgery care.

From Happy Pet Owners

  • Prompt and honest service. They didn't claim our dog's issue was any more or less severe that it was. Payment can be difficult to discuss in the moment but they were upfront about what was being done and what possible procedures would cost, asking for our approval before moving forward. Our boy ended up only needing minor care but we'll be using their service again in the future if we need emergency care.
