Very thankful to have such an amazing emergency veterinarian center in our area! The staff went above and beyond to take care of our baby in a true emergency. The staff were so kind as wonderful communication from the doctors.

Dr. Amy Smith, DVM is an emergency veterinarian at Northeast Veterinary Referral Hospital in Plains.
Dr. Smith graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in Biology in 1994. She received her DVM from VMRCVM in 1999.
Subsequently, she trained in acupuncture through IVAS and became a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner through the University of Tennessee. She has a wide range of clinical experience and has been providing emergency veterinary care at NVRH since 2015.
When not at work, she enjoys making wine at a local winery, running, hiking, reading, training her border collies and spending time with her husband and two sons.
