Dr. Sanjay Dick
Emergency
Dr. Sanjay Dick, DVM is an emergency veterinarian at Northeast Veterinary Referral Hospital in Plains who has a special interest in dermatology, soft tissue surgery, and dentistry.
Dr. Sanjay has had a lifelong connection to animals—one that began in childhood with a Fisher-Price stethoscope, handwritten “charts,” and a devoted group of stuffed animal patients. These patients later evolved into real life cats and dogs. That early passion turned into real-world experience when he began working at an animal hospital at just 12 years old, laying the foundation for his career in veterinary medicine.
Dr. Sanjay earned both his undergraduate and Master’s degrees from Eastern Mennonite University (’11, ’17), followed by his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine ('21). He is passionate about the dynamic nature of veterinary medicine and the important role it plays in preserving the human-animal bond.
His professional interests include canine and feline dermatology, soft tissue surgery, and dentistry, where he enjoys combining problem-solving with hands-on care.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Sanjay can often be found exploring new food and drink spots, cooking, gardening, and spending quality time with his family—including his four cats and two dogs, who keep life both busy and entertaining.

What a wonderful alternative when something happens to your babies outside normal vet hours. They treated us and my kitty like family. Explained everything and fixed him right up. He’s not enjoying the cone, but his stitches look great. Thank you to the whole team!
