Dr. Anne Risa, DVM is an emergency veterinarian at Northeast Veterinary Referral Hospital in Plains.
Dr. Anne Risa is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She spent ten years grooming dogs prior to obtaining her AS in Biology from Community College of Allegheny County and BS in Biology from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Risa obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM) from The Ohio State University in 2003. Dr. Risa has extensive veterinary emergency and ICU experience, owned and operated a small animal general practice near Pittsburgh, and served as a Supervisory Veterinary Medical Officer for the USDA.
Dr. Risa currently lives near Pittsburgh with her teenage daughter and 3 cats. She serves as secretary for the Norwegian Nationality Room Committee at the University of Pittsburgh, is active in the Pittsburgh area recovery community, and spends her free time with her hobbies of ceramics, silversmithing, and fine arts.
