Dr. Heather Swann, VMD, DACVS is a Veterinary Surgeon at Northeast Veterinary Referral Hospital in Plains.
Dr. Swann is a 1993 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine, where she also completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery, and a surgical residency. She remained at the University as a staff surgeon for three years.
During her career, she served as a Senior Veterinary Specialist and co-manager of the Veterinary Specialty Team for Pfizer Animal Health, teaching and practicing in top-tier clinics around the country.
In addition, Dr. Swann has been a referral surgeon in Cleveland, Ohio and the Philadelphia suburbs. Highly regarded for her expertise in surgery and pain management, she is active on the national lecture circuit, has published research in her field, and has been a member of the editorial review board for the Journal of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
In her leisure time, Dr. Swann enjoys photography, gardening, traveling and spending time with her husband, daughter and two miniature schnauzers. .
